The lure of a good tide at Severn Beach was enough to coax the three of us out of our beds at a ridiculous hour on Sunday morning.
The high tide was at 05:30am in old time,or 06:30am BST.
Now the problem was I went to bed at 12.15am old time, giving me a whole 2hrs 45mins before I had to get up.
So I collected Neil at 04:30 (old time) or 05:30 (BST) and off we went to Severn Beach.
We had £12 worth of Ragworm, and a box of squidly diddly… so off the Severn we went.
It was bloody cold and fairly breezy too.
So baiting up and off we go again…..
Neil is off to a flyer with two codling on his first cast and with his new two hook flapper rig! Caught on squid and ragworm, both fish returned to the sea alive and kicking
Then the unthinkable, a fish for me!! Only a little codling, but a fish none the less… returned to the sea unharmed
Neil catches yet again, this time probably putting him on the no.1 spot for largest fish caught this year!!
Dave pulls in a couple more codlings….
Neil catches another nice little codling, back to the sea live another day
Who could resist the charms below, Severn Beach at its finest!!!
Right thats it for the moment, next trip probably Severn Beach again…… Chesil for the future
