The Unthinkable

The unthinkable has occured, on Thursday 22nd January 2009 I officially joined the gym at work!

I was persuaded by Julie and Lynne in the office, their persistence badgering paid off and I gave in.

Myself, Neil and Dave went over there for the “induction” on Thursday, well it was more of a whistle stop tour to be honest! We were fully briefed as to what to do in the event of a problem (not!).

Anyway all being said and done £25 for one years membership and no charge for any visits is fookin marvellous!!! So Thursday evening me and Neil went over to do a workout, and spent about an hour over there. I was rubbish at the rowing and step machines, but had the strength for the weights.

Unfortunately the office berk was there! Nicknamed as the “honey monster” or “Chris Ryan (cos he can clear a room quicker than the SAS). He talks so loud that one of the gym users turned the radio up to drown him out!

So I will try and keep this upto date with any exercise, as it such a long time since I really did anything serious!

Post Christmas

So Christmas has been and gone, thankfully, and all went well. Emma liked her presents, so did Catherine, and so did my parents.

Going back to work was a bit of a grind, especially in the freezing cold temperatures. My trip to Reading on Tuesday 6th was a nightmare, 3 hrs to drive in, and 3 hrs to get home! That bloody M4 is a nightmare!

So my birthday is coming soon, and I was thinking of getting a PS3 for the blu-ray and movie playback, specifically in the bedroom with our new TV. A friend lent me his and to be honest the blu-ray was great, but the Xvid/Divx left a lot to be desired. I think an up scaling DVD player with mpg4 support would do my just fine for the bedroom.

So its back to the iPod Classic 120GB for my birthday, and to be honest its so very very long overdue! I listen to music all the time, so an iPod should have been in my possession many years ago!
