Emma’s Viking Homework

During the week’s holiday, rather than let the children enjoy themselves the school tasked the children with doing some research into Vikings, and then present it in whatever way they want (e.g poem, picture, model, song, writing etc etc).

So Emma decided to do a canvas using crafts to show the Vikings attacking the Saxons and stealing their treasure. I am quite proud of her, she did most of the work, and we helped only on the houses and longboat really.

Happy Halloween!

Here is our crappy attempt at a pumpkin this year, the one we bought from Tesco’s was rock hard! It was a mammoth task trying to cut the bloody thing, it was 2 inches thick in places and needed all sorts of knives and stuff to try and cut it.

Ok so the black you can see is where I would have cut it out, IF the bloody thing hadn’t been so damn rock like!

Now on the other hand, next door got a pumpkin from a farm, it was massive and looked really impressive outside the house on our wall we share.

Happy Halloween to all, even though it is an American tradition that I bloody detest!

At Last Back In The FOLD… Sea Fishing Returns!

Yes, at last a sea fishing outing!

Guess where….???

Yes, you got it… Lyme Regis, Dorset.

Nightmare journey for me to get to Veals in Bristol, some caravan had broken down on the slip road of the M4…. I hate caravans!

Anyway we got there late at about 7.30pm, headed for our usual ,alas two people had already bagged the end spot (they left after 2 hours though).

It was windy as hell, but we were fishing either way!

Above: Neil starts off well with Poutings, and a manky old eel! Tony (Dad’s next door neighbour looks nice and warm!)

Above: Old father times looks like he’s off digging roads, I thought I told him it was sea fishing we were doing! The picture of my boot and my only catch of the evening a pouting! More eel for Neil can be seen also!!

A little codling for Neil, a newcomer to Lyme Regis for us. Tony has a doggie, a little one, but a doggie none the less. Another one of Neil’s fishes can be seen also. Look at me in my decorating polo shirt, it’s comfortable and I don’t mind getting it dirty!

Added a TagCloud

Ok, I noticed that the Fishing League 2010 had about 10,000 lines of white space on the end, which stopped IE from loading it. I have removed this now, so the 2010 league is all visible.

Also I added a tag cloud of words, it doesn't do very much but looks a bit quirky, it contains the top 50 words from the blog that are used a minimum of 3 times.

If you want one, get it from http://www.tagcrowd.com

Simples..............

I’m Back!

It’s been longer than ever since my last update! But I thought it’s time to update the world with what has been happening in the world of Smith.

Well for starters the car has been in the garage for several things. I had a period of sounding like an electric milk float when my power steering pump and reservoir played up. It was a bloody nightmare, everyone looked at me in the supermarket when I was parking as the noise was so bad.

On top of that I have had another set of rear brake discs and pads, that’s the 2nd lot this year!

Moaning about the canteen at work is always a favourite, now I am still reeling at the 45p for the marmite pot but the new complaint now is boiled eggs.

Are boiled eggs deemed protein? Personally they are not meat, so how can they be? But in our canteen you get charged for them as protein.

60p too, which to be fair is taking the piss!

I’ve been working like a trojan at the office, ready for a big push into the real world. I now get up at 5am and get into the office for 7am… friggin mad eh!

Anyway, I will keep this site a bit more upto date, and yes I will put the fishing trip stuff on from Lyme Regis and Severn Beach.
