Ella's 5th Birthday Party

Today we all went to Ella's 5th Birthday party in Boomerang, Melksham.

She is the daughter of a dear friend at work called Julie. To start with Emma had the hump cos she was a bit jealous, but she soon settled into it and after a while was running around playing.

She had 4 sausages for dinner, which is a bloody miracle to be honest! Plus two bits of cake (birthday and chocolate cake!).

Boomerangs prices seem to have crept up recently, the cost of a can of drink has rocketed to 80p! Outrage!

Anyway I have got some photos, but will ask Julie if it's ok to publish them first as I don't want to put pictures of her kids online if she doesn't like it.

Class 3 Assembly

Today was Emma's assembly at school where all the parents of the children in the class were invited in to watch.

Their subjects were balloons and bubbles, they did a fantastic presentation and songs. Here are a couple of pictures, the first is Emma's class waiting, the second is Emma with her two friends.

The Curse Of The Ford Mondeo

My luck with the new Mondeo just keeps getting better and better! I've had dodgy dials, dodgy mileage, bits of the fascia coming away from the dash.

Then there was the oops I haven't got any brakes incident!

After that there was the return of the vehicle with E.T , extra tarnishes! See previous blogs.

Now to cap it all, I've got wonky headlights! The bloody lights on the driver side are about 2 metres max in front of the car! AHHHHHHH!!!!!

What do I have to do to get a working normal car, 3 years I had the other with no real issues, what have Ford done to this car, it was built on a Friday, and that's no joke. Maybe it is true, I have got a Friday afternoon car!

Anyway next Friday it is in the Ford dealer for a new computer in the dash to fix the mileage issue, they are also going to look at the headlights. Until then I'm keeping out of driving in the dark!

Mondeo is back, but .....

OK so at last yesterday I picked up my Mondeo after the accident I was involved in on the 17th April. It had been repaired and looked all lovely and shiny, well that's what I thought!

On arrival at the office I noticed on the rear bumper some very nasty gauges/scratches. I contacted the repair centre who are repairing the damage (they neither admitted or denied responsibility), but I wasn't that pleased as I didn't do it.

Anyway I'll be booking it in for a day for a repair, gratis of course as it wasn't me who did it.

Here are the pictures, which don't really do it justice!

The Nintendo Wii

It seems that everyone I speak to is after a Nintendo Wii at the moment, even hard core gamers. It seems a lot is to do with the release of Wii Fit (which is excellent by the way), or is it just the belief that you need to have one because everyone else has one?

I for one thought the Wii was a bit camp when it first came out, and considered all Nintendo consoles to be for kiddies or the Japanese market with their obsession for cute manga looking cartoon characters (e.g Final Fantasy etc). But when I actually played one, I realised that it was incredible fun, especially when you are sat watching your 61 year old Dad trying to do 3 rounds of boxing and he is throwing punches like Rocky Balboa on speed! That's entertainment that you just wont get on the Xbox 360!

Good News

Got some good news today! My car has been repaired by Advantage Valley but it still requires the Ford main dealer to replace the air bag and do all the safety checks for the vehicle. Still on a plus point the end is in sight!

I found the key for the locking wheel nut as well, so I ordered one of those today in readiness, only £17.50 plus VAT (the original has disappeared in my car ?!?)

ZeroDegrees Bristol

We went out to ZeroDegrees Bristol on Saturday evening for a meal to celebrate Iza's 40th Birthday (she is our next door neighbour). It was very busy in there, but the food and ambience was excellent. They brew their own beer onsite, and the place is very stainless steel in design, a pint of lager was only £2.70.

I had an American Pizza, Catherine had a spaghetti dish, and Emma had sausage and mash with chocolate ice cream for a dessert, all this for £30.

For more information on the place checkout their website

 http://www.zdrestaurants.com/zerodegrees/

If you go, the Americano pizza is very spicy!

Here's a picture of Catherine's dessert (Caramelised Apple Tart Tatin)
