High Tide @ Severn Beach

Tonight saw a 14m tide at Severn Beach so we decided to have a pop at catching something down there.

It was mega busy, and we had to fish off the railings. We did find a spot, but it was far from easy as there were lines everywhere down there, it was like a telephone exchange!

As usual none of us caught a bloody fish, there was talk of cod being caught there that week so it explained the amount of people fishing!

Dave notched up the only catch of the night, a shrimp! Gets him to position 2 on the league table for crustaceans!

At one point Dave decided to climb over the wall and try and Batman rope walk back up, unlike the Batman series where the camera is on its side, Dave didn’t fair too well. The rope was way too thin, and gave him rope burns (as we found out later when he used Neil’s antibacterial handwash!).

Unheard of though, was a night without anyone losing any weights or gear! Although Neil did have to wade out into the mud to retrieve his  weight after the hook got caught on a rock! The last picture above shows the state of his boots!

Next stop has got to be Budleigh Salterton, or my personal favourite Lyme Regis (no stones there!).
